Life Changing Disasters

Wow, it's amazing how one rash act or one decision can affect so many in such a short time. For those of you who haven't heard, the daycare as I believed it would be, was a big flop. The people who hired me to take over have met some pretty unfortuante circumstances and are not able to certify the daycare. Therefore, I have had to let someone children go, which has been the sadest part of my job thus far. I now only have 4 children each day as of March 1st and will be the only one here as well.

It has been a long hard journey and I'm thankful that some loose ends are getting tied up and that I will be able to get out of Limbo and on with my life. Unfortunately we still have some things to go through to get us "settled down." We are going to be moving again by the of March and are currently looking for a rental even though we wanted to own our house the next time we move. Our plan is to rent for one more year, saving up all that we can for a down payment, and then next April we will buy a house. I just hope that the house prices keep dropping in the mean time.

Logan and I have decided to continue the daycare as our own and keeping the 4 current kids. I just need to come up with a name and buy some things for it. Any suggestions for the name? I haven't thought of any yet.

I have one last story to tell before I go. So the kids I have now are all about the same age or level. They are all hitting potty training at the same time too. One girl we have, I'll call her O, has really been working hard on getting the whole thing down. Well one day after nap I guess O knew she needed to poop so on her way to the bathroom, she pulled down her pants to get ready to go. But the problem was that she didn't quite make it. She ended up pooping in the hallway and then standing there over it pointing and saying "poop" poop." This was about the time I cam onto the scene and find her with her pants down around her ankles and a nice little pile in the hallway. Well, she sees me and gets scared and so backs up into the wall, making nice big smears all of the wall. Oh I gotta love my job! :)

Yikes Mel! I just found this blog from your profile...I didn't realize how bad things were :( I'm so sorry this whole thing flopped after you worked so hard and went to all the trouble of moving...but I'm glad to hear you'll still be watching those kids on your own so you can be with Lilly...
